ST. LEO SOUP KITCHEN

Serving the poor at St. Leo’s, or at any shelter, is an extraordinary privilege; they are God’s precious ones. Such activities give our students face-to-face contact with some of the most destitute people in our diocese.  These men and women are facing very difficult times; they are to be treated with the utmost respect and compassion.

Description:  Our youth will be asked to help with a variety of things including folding clothes, prepping food, making sandwiches, serving food, wiping tables, etc.  Previous groups found this to be a very moving experience.  Lunch will be provided for the helpers if food is left after everyone else has been served.  Participants are invited to bring a contribution of canned goods and/or used clothing, toys, household goods from their attics. Please contact Joe Micallef, 4860 15th Street, at (313) 897-6565 or (313) 207-4327.
