RIGHT TO LIFE DISPLAY: Volunteers
are needed to help assemble white wooden crosses and place them on our Church
lawn, Wednesday, October 1st
(5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.) Volunteers are also needed on Wednesday, October 8th
(5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.) to
remove the crosses from the lawn. Students should wear comfortable
clothing, and bring a hammer if possible. Please

BLANKETS
FOR THE HOMELESS: Saturday, October 18 (9:30 a.m.-12: 00 p.m.)
in the Canfield Education Center. The Parish Moms
are making fleece blankets for less fortunate homeless individuals. Please

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CAN DRIVE:
Once a month the Knights collect pop cans to help support our local
seminary, Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
On the 2nd Sunday of the month, volunteers are needed
to bring the cans/bottles to the store for redemption. Please

STUDENT
HELPERS FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (YOUNGER GRADES)
AND
BABYSITTING OPPORTUNITES:
Classroom aides and babysitting helpers are needed
during our Religious Education classes on Mondays (6:20-7:45 p.m.) and Tuesdays
(4:05-5:30 p.m.) Adult supervision is provided at all times. This service
opportunity MAY NOT be a substitute for regularly scheduled classes. Please

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS FOR THE
HOMEBOUND: Saturday, November 22nd
(9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) in
the school cafeteria. The
Parish Moms group is making Christmas centerpieces, crafts, cards and
decorating cookies for the homebound in our neighboring communities. This is a
great holiday project for all students.

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE:
Students are needed to carry gifts from under the trees in the church
gathering area after the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, December 6 and 13,
and the 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Masses on Sunday, December 7 and 14 to the church basement. Plan to work one half hour. You can sign up for one or more dates. You will also sort the gifts by their tags. Please

the homes of senior members in our Parish family, and the Sunrise Assisted

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: RED
CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: Two helpers per shift are needed for
three different slots on Sunday,
December 7th to set up, greet
donors, sign them in, and clean up. This
event is held in the Canfield Education Center in ST. Paul School. Please

HOMELESS WEEK: February 28-March 7, 2009 at St. Paul offers a full week of opportunities
to help serve the homeless with food preparation, hospitality, assistance in
the clothing store, set-up and take-down, etc.
Mentor Groups Welcome! You must participate with your group, or with a
parent. WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE STUDENTS WHO SHOW UP WITHOUT ADULT

PARISH MOMS (FORMALLY
MOTHERS OF YOUNG FAMILIES): SPAGHETTI DINNER on Friday, March 13, 2009 (6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m.) There will be two
shifts between 3:30-9:00 p.m. Approximately twenty volunteers are needed for
set-up,
serving, activities and clean-up. The proceeds from this great event benefits
Christian charities, including Pregnancy Aid. Please contact Mrs. Kesteloot

PARISH MOMS EASTER EGG
HUNT: Saturday, April 4, 2009
(8:00
a.m.-12:00 p.m.) at the Parish House. Helpers are needed for set-up, serving

SERVICES FOR OLDER CITIZENS (SOC): Student volunteer opportunities are
available throughout the year! Help is
needed for yard work, reading and visiting with seniors, assembling holiday
baskets, clerical work, play games, etc.
There is something for everyone. Groups are welcome. Located in the
Neighborhood Club at 17150 Waterloo, Grosse Pointe. Contact Mary Rose Nelson

ST. PAUL THANKSGIVING FOOD COLLECTION:
A
group is needed during the first or second week of November 2008 (TBD)
to
distribute food collection items to various parishes. Items will be delivered
to
St.
Jude’s Parish, St. Veronica’s Parish, and The Nativity. These items will
provide
meals
for the hungry and the less fortunate persons of Detroit.
